1 DAY COURSE (part 1) and optional FOLLOW UP DAY (part 2) on painting landscapes in watercolour

3 DAY COURSE on painting landscapes in oils, watercolours and acrylics
£375 per person including delicious home cooked food and drinks or £495 full board
(Mon 9th - Thurs 12th July and Mon 20th - Thurs 23rd August)
BLUEBELL WOODS painting day
£125 per person. The day includes home made lunch with wine, brought to you as a special woodland picnic and all refreshments. To take place in the beautiful bluebell woods close to Bradness Gallery. Paint in the medium of your choice. All standards welcome. Maximum of five people
(Thurs 10th May and Thurs 17th May)
There is a 20% discount on all the above prices if you book with a ready made group of 5 people
The groups are very small with a maximun of 5 people on any 1 or 3 day course. This ensures that students receive plenty of individual tuition.

THE 1 DAY COURSE covers the fundamentals of using watercolours and is designed to inspire students of all ability levels from total beginner to those who have more years of experience. A series of demonstrations and exercises will cover picture construction, painting skies, creating depth and distance using tone and colour as well as the challenges of painting foliage and reflections in water. These will give a sound footing on which to take your painting forward.
THE FOLLOW UP DAY consolidates all these individual topics with the challenge of painting a whole picture from start to finish paying particular attention to any problems that may crop up whilst painting. Even if you ultimately choose to paint in other mediums, it is extremely useful to have an appreciation of how to sketch and paint in watercolour.
THE 3 DAY COURSE is in oils, watercolours or acrylics (whichever you prefer) and takes place in the studio and on location on the South Downs and local countryside. We are lucky enough to be a 15 minute walk from the beautiful River Ouse. The course allows for an in depth exploration of tips and techniques for capturing the landscape in all its moods.
