PAINTING COURSES AND ART CLASSES
Day courses on painting landscapes in watercolour by Michael Cruickshank

Michael gives art classes on landscape painting in watercolours from his studio at Bradness Gallery in Sussex. These day-long painting workshops cover the fundamentals of using watercolours and are specifically taylored to the challenges of capturing the landscape in all its moods. Techniques for capturing dramatic skies, the subtleties of foliage plus painting water and reflections are all covered and will give a sound footing on which to take your painting forward.

These painting courses will suit those who have some experience in watercolour as well as those who are beginners and simply want to learn how to paint. The small class numbers ensure plenty of individual tuition, and in the course of the day you will learn how to compose your subject, sketch it out, and develop the painting from broad washes of colour to final details. Participants will end the day with their own painting well underway or even finished, a solid understanding of the steps required to build a landscape painting, and a printed resume of the day with all the steps laid out clearly.

Participants need to bring their own set of watercolour paints and brushes. Stretched paper will be provided. Please feel free to telephone Michael on 01273 400606 if you need advice on paints and brushes.

A maximum of four places are available for each day to ensure that students receive plenty of individual help and advice.

The cost per person for a day's tuition is £125 including refreshments and a light lunch (There is a 20% discount for group bookings of four - a saving of £25 per person) These painting days make a wonderful gift for someone who would love to learn how to paint from scratch or wants to develop their skills in a friendly, helpful environment.
